Haha, not only did it make my head hurt, but I made sure it made all my guys heads hurt too. I brought it up on the kindle and read it outloud at the end of class. Then, I sent it to the gym printer and made everybody take a.copy home for their notebooks. It is indeed a damned good read from the Gerbil :-).

I've always tried to impart the same concept using the idea of hubs, every position is a hub that branches out into multiple options. (ala mission control) The idea being that you start to see the concepts...ie subluxation of the shoulder as opposed to an "arm bar". When you think of it that way you see the opportunities to extend the arm and apply pressure from all sorts of positions as opposed to just the position you have learned it in. A mounted arm bar is essentially an arm bar from the guard but upside down.
