Interesting position. It's like a combination of the Marcelo X-Guard and a Gokor Calf/Knee crush. Question, when your opponent is on the bottom and sliding in to put the X sweep on, could he possibly just straighten out your legs and sweep you while you are bending down trying to slide your forearm in for the slice? Or is there something holding his body from moving that I just didn't see? Thanks, interesting set up.

I hit this when the guy is sweeping me, when he straightens the leg out to make you fall back, it sets up the calve crush, like any move, its all about timeing, but it works great if your thinking ahead. Also, when you pin the other leg, it slows down the sweep

I actually started useing this from inside guard, when trying to do cut pass, and I have one knee inside, standard calf crush from guard, I was working with some brown belts from Alliance that were really repping X guard, and I started trying to work it on the top leg, but found that it works much tighter from the lower outside leg.

Coringao,
Thank you so much for your willingness to spread you knowledge & help others step up their game!!! I'm gonna try my best to come train with you in the near future... I don't get to train with a BJJ Blackbelt everyday... Peace be with you brother...

In my opinion, this technique is poorly demonstrated, dude, for two reasons.
First, why in the world would an opponent playing butterfly guard break the guy down with the head like that? It doesn't make any sense as generally you want to be sitting up when you are playing butterfly guard and the top guy would love to smash you down with his head in your solar plexus.
Second, not once does the guy on the bottom in your video actually play x-guard correctly. The knee from the top hook in xguard needs to be past the opponent's groin to really utilize it as a hook.
Nothing personal, but this looks sloppy man - not the level of detail that I would suggest you post on this forum as it just looks bad. If you're teaching a counter to a move (such as xguard), you can't show it with your partner doing things that are just wrong.

I dont know, I think this could be the end of Marcelo Garcias career.

Looks nice!! Even if the x guard is suspect, I still see potentials for the knee crush..
