Hello, everyone! I am finally getting the hang of 10thplanetjj!! Allow me to re-introduce myself as: James O'Brien

In The Beginning:
March 5th, 2007. I took my "Mastering the Rubber Guard" book by Eddie Bravo into PA-Grappling (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Pa-Grappling/203803770767) (YouTube.com/PAGrappling) asking then head instructor, Eric Grove (http://www.facebook.com/#!/eric.grove) (Sambo Blackbelt; Rhadi Ferg' Brown Belt; Lloyd Irvin Purple Belt) If I could learn NoGi jiujitsu. :D

Two months later I began competing: NGA '07 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY0EUl1Sbb0&feature=related) hosted by Sonnie Achille (http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000348795702)

3 weeks after that: Kumite '07 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vK6wzQrjQE)

I stopped competition to prepare for the football season!

4 months later I competed one last time before the football season began: PBJF (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmeStmphLJE&feature=related) by Steel City Martial Arts (http://www.steelcitymartialarts.com/)

Took a break for the football season, ran for 15 touchdowns that year!!

Returned to compete at Kumite '08 (http://www.youtube.com/icedevil2k#p/a/u/0/mDkNUH2rv_U)

Football preparation was back! Injured early in the season. Surgery at the end of the season. Followed by two more. During this time I dedicated my days of rest to the technical study of submission grappling supplemented by books and instructional videos. I grew fond of a lot of what 10thPJJ is doing and is trying to do, which is what brought me here many moons ago!

Currently I am currently playing musical gyms with training partner: Brett Hicks (http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=1152324481) (3 Stripe Blue Royce Gracie; Sambo Purple Belt; Eric Grove Green) -- All His Video Are on VHS?! Except these: First Pro Fight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyLayn1LY4o&playnext=1&list=PLD2B0CF76D005531A) -- And what the fuck is this??! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr9c3ewTDKo&feature=related)

Thank you all for the platform to introduce myself and a source of inspiration.
Will talk to you all soon! Peace.

I hope I didn't fuck this post up!!!

Thanks, Eddie!
Thanks, Jesse!

Karim, I welcome you! (:
And: Yes! 10th Planet Influenced Since the Beginning!
I began with "Jiu-Jitsu Unleashed" (mis-stated above). Being that I was at a school with an instructor I respected, most of my 10th Planet reps were put in after practice with Brett Hicks. The first alteration I made to my jiujitsu was changing from the traditional half guard to a lockdown half guard (I still love my half butterfly guard!).

But it wasn't until after I took bronze the first time that I came to the realization: I needed a more active guard. I completed my studies from the "Mastering the Rubberguard" DVD. And have since been adding to the system! Age 20 now! Looking for structure. Then looking to get back on the competition scene (:

Still waiting for that "Mastering the Twister" to drop, Eddie :D

PS: Fuck PA-G they took down my favorite Brett Hicks video of him triangling his opponent unconscious.

-- Not trying to mean, but that was dick :/
