  1. It is easy to be brave from a distance...
  2. Been a long week in Burning Sands Gym Egypt. Teaching about five hours a day. Spent a lot of time this week teaching Butterfly guard sweeps. Will put up a new video next week. Also taught escapes such escaping from Kimura. For some reason I am seeing MMA fighters not knowing basics, so we went back to the basics. One more day to go and then two days rest.
  3. Posted two new videos on my YouTube channel...Passing the Guard...

  4. Today we do are doing cross training fitness. Tracker tire and 10 lb hammer, concrete ball, log lifting, rope climbing, and weights. Load of laughs. The players bring their own self expectations. I don't say much.

After that boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu...it's Saturday! I love Saturday in the gym...
  5. Just finished a 4 day vacation in Alexandria Egypt. It was great by the Mediterranean. Back to work tonight. Train really hard everyday, fight really hard everyday.

  10. My name is Hamza Abdullah, Hamzatu. I am owner and instructor at the Burning Sands Gym in Cairo Egypt. I was the first person to introduce Jiu Jitsu to Egypt in 2004. I have been studying Jiu Jitsu since 1998, and wrestled in college at Morgan State. I have trained hundreds of students, national and international champions. We train very hard and we pride ourselves on that. We train boxing, Muay Tai, Kung Fu, wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, and fitness. I teach them all.

When I first arrived in Egypt I had many challenge matches from Egyptian martial artists, like shootouts in the old west. I defeated them all. Now I have been accepted and am well respected in Egypt. I love no gi Jiu Jitsu. Now there are others in Egypt teaching BJJ and somehow they send those who want to learn MMA to me...hard work pays off.
