Which path to choose?

Hello guys. I need some advice. I have a half guard game, Lucas Leite style, and it works pretty well for me. I have my defensive game figured out. When I’m on bottom I always look for the half to sweep/submit the guy.
But, once I sweep and get side control I kinda get lost. There’s so much things to do: mount, kimura, Americana, d’arce, twister side control to back, knee on belly, arm bar, etc...
So, when I get to the side control I don’t have a game planned. I just go crazy and try to get one of theses positons mentioned. I don’t have a path.
I noticed i and realized that I need a game plan. I need to know what I’m gonna do when I get to side control.
Here’s where I need you guys help. What should I focus? Improve position (knee on belly -> Mount) ( Twister roll to back)? Or submission ( KIMURAS, americanas, arm bars...)?

maintaining side control is good enuf for me... (being "stuck" in top side control is a good problem to have)

...but yea a Fishnet setup to the Truck/Twister is the ultimate goal

(also I was really into the UnderJack game from mount for a while bcuz it is so money... I was just thinking about how I need to get back on that shit)

What are your best attacks and transitions from side control?

I personally like switching my hips into twister side control and working that path. They don’t turn into you, take mount and work armbars guillotines mounted triangles arm triangles etc. They turn into you lock in the grapevine and fishnet. I’ll watch Eddie roll and achieve twister side with zen like patience in that position. The fishnet and grapevine need not be rushed. Let it come to you. Keeping your ass elevated on their shoulder enough to prevent them from getting up to their elbow is an art in itself. Weight distribush mastery takes time. Be heavy, slow things down, and Bank time in that position just controlling. Let them panic and burn themselves out. If they insist on pushing their arm through to get the underhook, anticipate the kimura will be there and look into kimura trap game.

Find a game that you enjoy playing then develop the patience and belief that will allow you to catch it against people even if they know it’s coming.

I too like the dogfightchy. This game ages well and need not require superior physical attributes to be effective.
