Duane is one of the nicest most humble guys in MMA I've ever met.
His injury was sick, I hope 7 months was enough time to recover, good luck this weekend!
WAR BANG!
I'm definitely a fan! WAR BANG!
Whoa! That screw was long. "It's a boy!" haha :) Watching that makes me contemplate the advances in medicine that allow MMA fighters, and athletes in general, the opportunity to continue in the sport they love after such devastating injuries. Would MMA be able to grow in popularity if the doctors weren't able to piece fighter back together? If not for the advances in sports medicine, most of these guys who get such injuries would have such short careers that we wouldn't get the opportunity to see them showcase their skills time after time and develop an interest in them as individuals. Guys like Shogun also come to mind. I had been contemplating going back to grad school for Biomedical engineering and this makes me want it even more. Thanks for the post.
nicks my teacher, i hope he wins, i hope its a war though too :)
Duane's my parnter's Muay Thai Coach....Hope Duane wins ;)
Its amazing what they can do with implants. I just got mine out because they turned out to be infected which explains why they were giving me so much trouble. Got to be super careful! Iv got this living in my leg at present http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacillus
Wish him all the best, I love seeing guys recovering from injury and going on to succeed.
