Does he have the underhook? Foot trapped?
Clarify posish. Every situation has completely different concepts.

I like the Joe Lauzon triangle on Jamie Varner in the first clip, they're only in dog fight for a split second but it works pretty well.
I can only think of two things to do there. Vice grip attacks or an armbar. But honestly, I don't put up much of a fight in dogfight when I have the overhook. I just pull guard.
The Red Baron! Alder showed it to me back in 09. Limp leg out the trapped leg, keep the whizzer than grab the far arm on the tricep with your other arm then pull the arm across his body towards you, than do a Harai Goshi (Sweeping hip throw) from the knees. Land into side control with the overhook all ready in, and finish with a d'arce.
Pull out trapped leg, front headlock.
Think scissor leg takedown into honey hole.
Nathan Orchard showed us this in Gulf Shores.
High five. Like very much.
I don't have a go too personally, I don't train with many people that go to dog fight often enough. Matt Thornton's functional JKD 3 had some good stuff though, including the uchimata type throw. A lot of you may find this old wrestling instructional handy, as it spends a lot of time in the position, (it assumes at times you have beaten the leg)

Wow there's so much here lol!
So limp leg and replace on the outside of far one, followed by the sweeping motion?
Is that the one he showed from turtle? I can envision switching to a wedge/honey hole control on the far knee, taking the free leg and pinch the trapped leg between my legs and then doing a sort of side roll backwards, maybe?
This has so much! Only watched the first 12 mins but there's a lot of gold already. Kinda seemed like it (maybe?) explained coach Zog's suggestion.

Jeff Glover appears to try a Powder Keggish thing from a similar position. Could it help?
Technique is at about 1:00.
Damn, I went from having zero counters to a handful of options. I'm gonna have to put in reps, but hey, better to have an idea of what to use than have no idea and pull guard. At least I have an idea of how I can put up a fight now.
Thanks for making this thread Ross. This is proof that this forum is a hidden gem in the BJJ community.
I do something very similar to what Herzog described earlier.
This has been bothering me ever since I saw the thread but I tracked down the video, deep in my playlist lol. It's the Uchimata style counter.

Rolling knee bar.
Strong whizzer and limp leg.
Edit: or what Zog said. He said it much better than I.
The one that I usually get is uchi Mata and scooping the far ankle, and I end up in their guard
