I tried that on Friday and it worked really well. I was in 2 darces, 1 time the dude switched to a marce and I got got but the other time I came right out and escaped. Thanks for this!
BTW this is the closest thing I can find as a way to break the picture day.

The bottom arm isn't in picture day defense but like I said this is the closest I could find. After you use your knee to smash the top frame, you squeeze your legs and pinch their arm so they can't reframe it, and then step over to the mount. Without pinching their arm between your legs you run the risk of it being easier for them to go right back to the picture day.
I love this thread! Thank you, this is so helpful:)
Heh. Since this thread got bounced, maybe I can just add that when I use this defense at the gym, people say "WOW, you have a REALLY strong neck!"
Nope. Just strong bones G. lol :)
Thanks again for posting.

1 minute 23 seconds in the Picture Day Defense makes an appearance!!
They show switching from the darce to a guillotine! This made me wonder if you ever got round to filming the videos on how to deal with the Japanese Necktie, Peruvian Necktie, Arm In Guillotine, and Mendes Anaconda chokes?? Really think this whole system should have a Mastering the system episode dedicated to it!!! So Simple but so effective!
That's awesome!
The picture day has basically made me use the marce over the darce over 90% of the time. Even without sliding into the marce versus the turtle, even if I lock a clean darce on top, I just snag a leg and do the Bill Cooper "Sonic the Hedgehog" roll right into the marce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmEl926qPGU#t=2m
The picture day is a very frustrating defense.
