Questions about EBI 7 competitors for jiujitsuportugal.com

Hey guys. I'm writing up a pice on EBI7 for jiujitsuportugal.com, trying to evangelize the country into the idea of SubOnly (leglocks as well, but that's for some other time).

I have a few questions about some of the lesser known competitors, namely Ara Muradyan, Mike Main and Mike Davilla.

Mostly, who do they train under, what's their go-to game, what can we expect from them.

My goal is to get people invested in every single one of the competitors (I'm actively trying to hide my bias towards Geo and Denny lol).

Mike Main teaches out of pure mma in New Jersey with his brother andy main. I think andy gave him his black belt but do not quote me on that. Mike was in ebi four and was miyao's first match. Mike style is very fluid, he has good passing, and i have seen him finish guys from his guard and by taking the back. He plays the truck a lot. Scratch that Mike got his black belt from oannis (Yanni) Hronakis.

Mike Davilla is part of team Renzo's in New York and is a brown belt. I think he trains in Brooklyn and he is not under danaher. He won the first finishers event run by Zach and JM by finishing all of his opponents in regulation. He has a similar style to danahers main students- he finishes a lot of leg locks. He is a dark horse for sure.

Ara Muradyan is part of team Hayastan. I have never met him but I have trained with Gokor a few times and my cousin is a black belt under gokor so I imagine he has a similar style. He probably has great take downs and is well versed in leg locks. Those guys all play a heavy pressure stlye as well. But again I have never seen Ara so that is just a guess.

Hi Diogo! any recommendations for places to train in oporto?

Hey mate. When I'm in town I usually train at ArtSuave - Academia 77. They are lovely people, head coach is a black belt. They do no gi on saturday mornings, but most time lend me a gi when needed.

Even though they follow IBJJF rules, they've never scolded me for doing anything illegal, they just make a note of it and let me know that I can't do it. I like the different training because it improves different areas of my game.

A few of the people are fairly 10p friendly, they go crazy with the lockdown or rubber guard. One of the guys actually has one of our 10p London rashguards. My brother also trains there, and he's as 10p gung ho as they come.
