10th Planet St. Paul, MN at Grappling Games

We competed at the St. Croix Grappling Games today. Showed up with 15 competitors and ended up taking home 15 medals. 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze. We have a decent amount of video footage so I'll put something together this week with highlights.

Perry Olson won the Expert Division both at his weight class and in the Open Weight Division. He's a purple belt that has an amazing wrestling background.

Blake Bilder, one of our gyms monsters, won the 2-5 year division with 4 matches ending all by submission. This is his 5th straight tournament win.

Another up and comer from our gym is Wade Hagen. He end up taking 3rd today and finished all of his wins by submission also. He hit a beautiful Triangle from guard and a perfect Japanese Necktie in a match that lasted all of 30 seconds.

There are plenty of other submissions and wins that I hope were caught on tape....again I'll have video up soon!

It was a fun comp. I was glad to see a strong 10p rep. And also to see an old college friend (clayton) with you.(he took silver in his weight class).
I lost to the same guy twice, double elimination. But i made him work for it the second match. So i get a bronze consolation prize thanks for showing up.

Weebo - Thanks! Yeah Clayton took 1 Silver and 1 Bronze by the end of the day. You guys have a good team at 10kMMA. If you're ever down in the cities feel free to stop in and train.

Mike just returned from Kuwait where he was running the official 10th Planet Kuwait Hotbox. He flew home this week, stopped into the gym to cut weight on Friday, weighed in and then competed on Saturday. He won all of his matches by submission taking the Gold in his weight class and then moved up to the Open Weight where he took a Bronze medal.

I don't have any video of your matches Mike! Do you know of anyone that got them?

I know you competed against Joe from our gym and he has all of his matches so I'll try and get the match between you two from him.

i had two matches with joe, and i believe the first match was taken by ryan/clinton because he rolled right before me, the other video would be from alliance JJ and you said it would be tough to get that vid. otherwise i dont know if anyone got the me/perry vid or the 3rd place match vid. if we do id love to get them :)

Here's a video of Perry Olson who's our wrestling coach. He's in the white shorts. Dude's an absolute monster on the feet. He's competing against Kelly Johnson who won the Brasilian Worlds last year at purple belt and also the Pan Ams this year at purple belt.
