The path...
Believe it or not, that's my real name. This is my first post here....it's like a Narnia experience. An hour ago, I had no idea this wealth of information and community existed. I knew of 10p, but BJJ isn't on the grid out in the hills of East TN yet.
My wife and I are both former active-duty Marines. My wife, daughter and I started training BJJ roughly a year ago under James "Monster" Mullins who trained under Helio Soneca.
Now we live in a rural area in east TN about three minutes from our dojo. We love it. We're there every time the doors are open. We're scrambling to become more involved in the subculture and up our training op-tempo. We all intend to compete eventually. Most of what we glean about the community surrounding this sport comes from the internet....but that ain't enough.
I want to plug in 10p training/technique early in our journey and make it a pattern. Not having a 10th Planet facility near us sux, but it's more of the same for us. We'll adjust fire and bring that energy here. That's our M.O.
All that for this...I'd like to cut out the middle man and ask the source.
Where should I start with the video content to take my family down a relatively linear path of 10p training? I can't imagine how it'll amplify/augment the way we learn now. Damn I'm glad to be a part of this.
Respectfully,
jds

The rubberguard, lockdown and twister games are the foundation of the 10th Planet system. I'd suggest getting mastering the rubberguard book or DVD and start from the beginning, mission control and the basic path to omoplata sub/sweep, get good at working off that overhook. Also the pump and croc from rubberguard will really help you understand trapping shoulders for armbars. Lockdown/whip up and whip down to old school and electric chair. Stomp to cacoon if they have the underhook and you're in bottom half and learn the jean Jacque sweeps. I'd also suggest learning the warmups asap and really focus on those, isolate the techniques and learn them thoroughly. Each warmup technique can be found either in the books or on MTS. Feel free to come on the forum if you're having help figuring a technique out. I'd suggest drilling a lot slowly so you can figure it the proper angles particular things need to be done at. Also travel to 10th Planets and get privates with instructors. Good luck! Feel free to add me on Facebook and message me with any questions!

Helio is tha shit, but Eddie is my master. Every mts is valuable. Scott kills with everything he mentioned.
Go fishing or get your ass to the gym Scott.

Hey man! My buddy Chad Clark is in Knoxville TN. He's a 10p Purple Belt. That's really close to you. Do yourself a favor and drive out there soon.

I agree with Brandon. While we are all lucky enough to have a wealth of knowledge literally at our fingertips; nothing compares to having someone who knows what their doing demonstrate and perform the techniques on you or vice versa. I've been to gyms who train some 10P specific game, but do not have people that actually know the system and they are just missing out on the feel that you can't get from watching all the videos in the world. But, yeah learn as much as you can, and then get it tested.

Welcome aboard brother :)

Yeah man, my zip was a Knoxville zip back in the day. Do you know where he trains? I'd love to fly-on-the-wall it, if nothing else. Very cool.

Private sessions are on the menu for sure....and the drills. Oh boy, since this post...just settling into the movements. I'm a friggin' soup sandwich on a stick. Might pull the trigger and nab a training dummy. Any input in that lane or experience drilling with one?

Glad to be a part! Man, that soundcloud shtig is badass. I never knew...and good chill. It paints a picture, the music we listen too.
Always on the hunt.
