Hey I was just wondering what brand Eddie Bravo's headgear is to protect his ears. I have some plugs I don't want rip and I finally get to start training BJJ next month. There's a Machado based school here in my po-dunk town now.
Also, what's the best brand for a gi.

I think Eddie uses the Brute Shockwave Ear Guards.
But it's not on sale anymore.
I use the Cliff Keen 'Twister' Earguard. You have a review here.

I hate rolling with someone who has plastic covered ear guards those shit are nasty when they grind their face on you. Not nice and it hurts!
Do your rolling partners a favor and get some soft cover ear guards :)

This is correct. They are very comfortable too.
if by plugs you mean earings, take them out before class. even with guard on they are going to be knocked out of place or dig in right in that nice nerve spot behind your ear.
if its hair plugs you are on your own.
I use my cauliflower ear to protect the rest of my ear while rolling. I do have twister headgear when they hurt really bad, they work well but they can get used against you.

Guy I roll with takes his out and puts in rubber rings in. they stay in for a little while. I love Prana Kimonos ( GI ) , but I only use the pants since I do no Gi . Ankle sleeves help also and they are cheap. Good luck.
