I have to agree with Coach Herzog here. If you walk into 99% of the gyms down there and start heel hooking everyone, there's going to be trouble. It's an area that's still very heavy on the IBJJF style of jiu jitsu.

My point is that I have alot students that travel, some gyms are super cool, and some have been complete assholes to my students when they tell them they are 10th Planet, and im talking recently. Has nothing to do with leg locks.
My favorite are the schools that don't necessarily hate on 10P techniques, but rather respect them as a serious threat to the BJJ scene. I did a drop-in at a Matt Serra affiliate once and the entire class was about breaking the lockdown and getting the Darce or can-crusher (lol).
Needless to say I enjoyed hitting a Vaporizer in front of the head coach during live rolls
Come visit me up in Jacksonville, I have two schools now, 10th Planet Orange Park and 10th Planet Atlantic Beach and yes, Fla, in many ways has been stuck in the stone ages, but we basically flipped the establishment on its head here and now every gym has memebers who stop by our schools periodically and get down with legs and no gi, the main thing a year ago was people still clinging to the Gi as the ultimate training tool but we have made so much progress even to the point where we are invited to other local schools open mats now and I've worked really hard to promote the "same team" Jiu jitsu vs the world mentality. But can't speak on south Florida, but we'll be there eventually, maybe not me but it'll happen one day.
