Yes, he has put out several mts episodes that have segments dealing with whip up, whip down, etc.
It’s time I revisit the whip ups. Whip up, whip back and whip down. Whip down and bump-slide-whip are in E4, crucial material
Don't mean to beat a dead horse here. But just so I can consolidate or correct my understanding - it's difficult to remember what the purpose of each whip is but am i correct in saying:
Whip up - opponent has head and arm, when jaws of life fail, use the whip up to get second underhook
Whip back - if after the whip up, the opponent attempts to darce you/has a deep wizzer, you whip them to the side of the wizzer, to force them to base, and you go from shitty double underhooks to perfect double underhooks
whip down - bit confused here, it seems as if it's the same as the whip back - what's the purpose of the whip down?
have i got it all wrong?.
error
I'm no expert, but here's my understanding, and the way that I use the various whips.
Whip Up: You have secured double underhooks, but you are flat on your back. Use the Whip Up to get on to your side and into Electric Underhooks.
Whip Down: You are in Pre-Stomp, but you can reach your opponent's free leg. You whip to the lockdown side to retrieve your underhook.
Whip Back: I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is probably the movement immediately after you just Whip Down'd and got your underhook, and now you need to go back the other direction and get into Electric Underhooks.
Again, I could be mistaken.
Thanks Charles, makes a lot more sense than mine.
Can anyone confirm?
Charles is correct about whip up and whip down.
Whip back is when you have shitty double underhooks, you barely have a S grip around his body and he has a frame on your face orbis whizzar is too deep. Attempt a half plex over your left shoulder, it won’t work, he will quickly base but for a moment you can fix your underhooks by getting closer and deeper
