Help with breaking posture when they have their hands on biceps or armpits.

I need help they go to break posture with hands on the upper body(biceps armpits). They go straight into a standing pass game. I know if i reach and almost fold my arms i can cross grab but still i lose the pummeling game.

Sit up at a really deep angle instead of going straight up.

    2 on 1.

Fredson Paxiao (sp?) style wrist locks.

Really deep meaning? I break guard scoot hips out more than sit up?

By the way Bradon Thanks for replying to all of my stupid questions.

Assuming you're pummeling on the left side.

(Right Arm) Pull down on his head to control posture, (Left Arm) raise your elbow high so that his tracking arm is straightened, pummel through the created space without dropping the elbow, immediately trap the hand on the mat for the easy New York.

    Effective pummeling is paramount.

He's making a frame against your upper body. Don't try to power through his structural integrity.

If flat on your back is 0 degrees, and completely on your shoulder is 90 degrees, imagine turning your self to 45 degrees and then doing your sit up. You will no longer be fighting his frames head on.

I used to have an issue with this a way back. The way i beat it now is to stretch both my arms directly over my head (superman style)...then i take my right arm and grab the back of their right arm around the elbow like I am going to attempt an armbar. At this point they usually react to defend and either leg go of the grip on my armpit (if they do i follow them and clinch to break them down) or bury down giving me the breakdown i want. Very simple, very effective.
Brandons mention of wrist locks can also be effective.

Another tip would be when you are ready to break them down use your legs to bring him to you and not all your arms and upper body so much. So as soon as i feel him release the grip on my armpit i immediately thrust my legs towards my head and 'catch him' to keep him broken down.

You said they go for standing passes? You're playing open guard?

I believe he means breaking open the guard while standing, followed by the pass.
