    BJJ Blog

    Hey guys & gals,

New forum member, long time reader. I recently started a blog to keep track of my BJJ-related ramblings, and thought I'd share it. You can find it here: http://loganbjj.wordpress.com/

    Some recent posts:

Accuracy of Belt Stripes - Is the number of stripes on your belt an accurate representation of your skill level? Does your academy even use stripes?
    http://loganbjj.wordpress.com/2011/1...-belt-stripes/

Brutish Spectators - are MMA fans just bloodthirsty savages?
    http://loganbjj.wordpress.com/2011/1...sh-spectators/

The Guard and Ball Grabbers - “Seriously…why is the gracie guard promoted as self defense? … All the other guy has to do is reach down and grab your testicles, which you have left fully exposed by leaving your legs wide open.” http://loganbjj.wordpress.com/2011/1...ball-grabbers/

Why Bother With The Gi? - sure to be contentious on this forum...

Feel free to check it out and leave comments. Thanks!

"Relaxed rolling" - some thoughts on Marcelo Garcia, the importance of relaxing when rolling, and reflections on my own goals for the next little while.

"In case you haven’t already guessed from reading my previous posts, Marcelo Garcia is probably my favorite grappler. His transitions are amazingly fluid, his style of rolling is dynamic and fun to watch, and he doesn’t hesitate to go for submissions."

Get a tumblr. I don't check on word press blogs. It's easier for me to keep up with tumblrs.

Yeah, Tumblr is the way, but it's easy to get sidetracked and reblog a picture of a hot chick smoking a bong

Does tumblr support larger blog entries and separate pages for videos, pictures, etc? In any case, since I've spent a bit of time putting this one together, it's unlikely I'll switch over to tumblr for at least a little while.

It allows followers, and for you to post Photos, Text, Videos, Quotes, etc. You can customize your blog pretty easily and you can keep a track of your followers much better.

There could be a Wordpress To Tumblr transfer tool, but I'm not 100% on that

It does. I have a recommendation. Use your tumblr to promote your main blog. That way, when I'm going through my tumblr, I'll see when you have an update and I'll head over there. On tumblr, you'll network 10x faster than on wordpress. There's a couple blogs I follow that follow that format. They do short form blogging on tumblr. And when they have a long post, they'll post a link on their tumblr. Then I click the link and go to the main blog.

    Just a suggestion.
