    GOLD at u73.5kg elite 5 yrs+

A long way to go for 2 mins grappling, but ended up with 2 gold medals so not gonna complain. I waited around on weight a long time for no one to turn up to the 67.5kg division then onto the u73.5kg division and just the one match above where I gave up the full 6kg.

Sam Sales also came away with a silver.

A taxi turned over on the M40 on the way home which meant a 5hr journey. Quite a day weve had

Nice chain for the finish. You went looking for the arm, switched to omoplata and then came back to triangle beautifully sir.

Chris Garry is a savage. Totally kicked ass in his match, against a much bigger dude.

I kinda let myself down with my match. Was asleep for the first 4 minutes. By the time I woke up I couldn't make the points back.

Thanks fam! The comp was in Kent, UK.

Competing regularly gives you the biggest edge, can't buy that match sharpness. I feel I've figure out how to play pts matches by going for subs, wanting to go for subs but still being ultra aware of the points just isnt doing it for me so now I just say to myself I have x amount of time to land the sub; I happily gave up 2 pts for the takedown once I felt I had a good clinch.

Eddie nailed it on MTS 42 I absorbed what he said about the importance of the clinch and began applying it during training and then comps.

'Tha clamp' is what I call that initial control you had. I love it. They have to address it then you attack. Looked good.

That's exactly why I don't cut weight for any tourney that can't guarantee at least a 4 man bracket for every division. When you do expert/advanced the pickins can be slim and they often combine classes. Happened to me three times till I said fuckit. I no longer cut for grappling.
