    Failed Lockdown

What do you guys play when the opponent knows the lockdown is coming so they hide the leg and don’t allow you to get that over hook to secure the lockdown. I was thinking of super stomping to butterfly guard any other suggestions?

I struggle with this myself, but having a strong stomp is key if your lockdown is failing. Interested in hearing other ways.

Stomping to Butterfly Guard is definitely the correct path. Even if you aren't using it to sweep, the off balance that it creates will allow you to connect leg attacks or put you in a position to get the underhook to begin dogfight. Invest some time in developing those options and see the benefits. Good luck

Framing and escaping hips to 93 Guard to underhook to dogfight or butterfly half guard. When I am playing most guards, I think it is smartest to place my legs in the easiest position to pummel an underhook.

Playing the mini stomp game is huge. A correctly applied MS game puts your opponents leg in the lockdown

Many dudes hip to lockdown are hip to it on your strong side. Play weak side(opponent's left leg) lockdown to mix up the response.

Play the weak side or force your opponent to the strong side, black mamba is vital. Play the 2 on 1 sit up guard if all else fails.
