NEWS: 'Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg' peaks with more than 850,000 viewers

MMAjunkie.com today confirmed that this past Saturday's "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg" event peaked with 853,000 viewers.

Industry sources confirmed that viewership on the premium-cable channel peaked during the evening's main event between Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz and Brazilian slugger Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos.

The peak viewership was the second-highest ever earned by a Strikeforce event on Showtime, ranking just behind 2009's female championship fight between Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos and Gina Carano, which drew a Strikeforce record 856,000 viewers during the main event and averaged 576,000 viewers for the card.

Me and my buddies called all around the city but no place had showtime and/or was just not showing it. Hopefully Strike Force will become a little more mainstream so more places will carry it.

that was a quality fight...cyborg was game...but that cut seemed to effect him. Strikeforce needs to keep giving people what they want and develop their other classes.

Find someone for Mayhem to fight...

Have Semtex fight Diaz and stop making people wait for the fights they want to see.

This promotion is struggling from head scratching match making. You really need to develop your divisions and make natural rivalries instead of booking matches out of left field.
