need some help, My rubber guard is getting shut down

I was rolling earlier today and as soon as I got to New York the guy I was rolling with clasped his hands behind my back (at my lower back) buried his head into my sternum and just sat there. When I tried to clear the neck I couldn't get my elbow under his chin to start the move to the gogo. We were both kinda stuck there, I was waiting for him to move and he knew if he released his grasp I would continue the progression. I need help with this because I have a feeling everyone is gonna be shutting down my rubber guard this way. Thanks in advance

hes got super control of your hips

you can shut down ALOT of guard work with hip stalling

if hes not going to let go(and i had this problem recently and only fixed it thinking about it in my room lol)
you can throw in your butterfly hook and put a foot on the other one and try to sweep him

you could maybe try a ninja choke or a guillotine

you could attemp to shrimp out on one side and maybe work a kimura

hip bump sweeps work pretty great!

either way its him that has to pass your in the better position(i think)

and if hes not sitting back on his heels you can flatten him out with ease
by hooking the top part of your feet on the top part of his ankles
.i dont know what this move is called but it will work on a 300 lbs dude too

and dont forget to really drive that forearm/elbow into his collar bone
it prevents him from freeing up his shoulders and always squeeze (i say this but i always fuck up too LMAO)

especially when i get to new york ...its like harold and kumar getting to white castle LOL
    its that epic for me!

Just to be clear your stuck in ny.
    Options
    1. You can go to rescue Dawg and try and open up the other side.
    2. Control the head get an over hook and start working all the pyramid options
    3. Again control the head secure an over hook, probably escape you hip depending on the angle. Then clear the neck and go for an omoplata or go straight to chill Dawg
    4. You can also go to NY crack head control by crossing your legs and then try to clear the neck.

Hopefully this helps. Btw there are just a couple options there are a few more. Always remember that when you get stuck somewhere try and make a move. If it fails then you know that it does not work. If it works you have something new. I think the advice I just gave is way more important than then technique.
