Monoplata

Started using this technique when my opponent rolls out of omoplata and gives me top position with my legs still around his arm.
Surprised I havent seen eddie using this technique as he gets omoplata so often, when the opponent rolls he seems ok with just pushing the hip to stop them rolling back into him and getting the mount/twister side control.
I may be wrong, maybe you do like it eddie.
eddie and everyone else, what are your thoughts on the mono plata?
do u have much success with it?

havent you dont some monoplatas and mounted straight jackets on a MTS episode?

Ah i didnt watch through them all, ill have to go back and check. I just have the basic control and submission that marcelo garcia shows in his dvd. I still have no idea what you can branch off of it, other than maybe a basic armbar should link from monoplata quite nicely if they manage to twist their arm.

Yeah, you can do almost all the same rg subs from mono control. It's actually easier and more effective than rg. You opponents defense its very limited when the are on their back in that position.

If you guys wouldnt mind, can you post all your set ups to get to mono control? it seems really really simular to spider web, except that the opponents arm is bent back the same way it would be in a kimura or omoplata.

easiest way ive got so far is, when they rollout of omoplata, let them, push the hip then twist round how you would for a mounted triangle but instead go to mono control.

When in rubber guard and doing the swim move to set up the omoplata you mean? Just before you go to jewclaw, im wondering how u can swep them backwards almost like a flower sweep from there..... right into monoplata....
