Combat8 - Boxing/MMA Hybrid in Australia

This is yet to launch and is another hybrid but different to Combat JJ again, just wondering if there was anything like this going on anywhere else in the world?

In summary:

- Boxing and grappling on the feet (no elbows, knees, kicks etc)
- Takedowns allowed but you get stood up unless you ask for your 1x30 sec ground work time that you get per round
- Can ground and pound or sub on the ground (when you use your 30secs)
- If you don't use your 30sec, you get stood back up and start again.

Definitely more weighted to the boxer than the grappler (opposite of Combat JJ) but again will attract those that are happy to box but don't want to spend time on all the kicking aspects.

Does MMA not exist in the down under? My Krav Maga instructor I know has a school out there, but I take it they didn't have a league of some sort. They just sound ridiculous! Did they not see UFC when you have a boxer will gloves on fight a jiu jitsu fighter? What happened? You took out the legs and the boxer didn't know shit how to fight on the ground, this was about ummm 20 year ago!

Oh and if you thought registering as a "fan" on the bottom of the screen, it requires your cell phone number to verify you!

Yeah they have MMA. The next TUF is an Aussie.

This just another hybrid like Combat JJ. Seems like I'm the only one that digs from everyone I spoke to. Guess its my love of boxing and my hate of being kicked.
