Fake charities are a good way to make money, there was just something on the news about how only 10% of donations actually go to the cause & the rest is profit, thats why theres always a cause for this or that. & people have no issue with asking others for money. it's a dope business plan
I completely agree.. Thats why any Charity thats sponsored will be one that 100% of all the donations will go directly toward the cause (Not advertising, salaries, ect) In fact, My family is mad bc my dad runs a charity and they wanted me to use that one.. but I know that 20% of what they recieve goes towards paying the salary of the church leader in Africa who runs the charity.. So I had to tell them no. Which reminds me, If anyone knows any good charities, email them to me at PlanetHumans@gmail.com
I'm not sure about the 10% rule, but I do know that the average is 40%. Imagine I say, "hey man, there's a family in need. Can you donate $100 to get them groceries?" Then I pocket $60 for servicing costs? Sucks man. That's why I hate donating to charity. I'm about that grassroots type giving where 100% of charity goes to the need. I also have a charity idea that ensures proceeds go toward the need. I'll keep you all posted.
Chronic, keep up the good work. In a negative world, positivity is an uphill battle, but not an impossible battle.
ah, makes sense in Africa. I don't know their laws. But the US laws is 60/40....meaning the charity can keep up to 60% of donations for maintenance costs...like $1000's worth of camera equipment, or housing, or printer ink, etc. I don't like that. If you're getting into charity, you shouldn't look for ways to play the books to come out on top. That Kony BS was...well, straight BS. They went viral and got millions...and so that means they kept millions. And what exactly is the charity donating toward? The local government? The same gov that's corrupt? Nah bro. I can't put in my hard earned money for that.
Grass roots is where it's at.
