Someone within the IOC must genuinely hate wrestling. Why else would you eliminate it and keep Pentathlon — a goofy mix of shooting, horseback riding, fencing, running and swimming. WTF? :mad:
they get rid of wrestling yet rolling around on a floor with a ribbon gets you a medal what gives..

Blows, Well hopefully MMA will keep it alive. Sad to see. I may have to frame my USA Wrestling coaches card since it may not matter in a few years.

Even more so when you consider that for a shot at reinclusion in the Olympic Games as an additional sport, wrestling must compete with baseball/softball, roller sports, rock climbing, squash, wakeboarding and wushu.
Total bullshit!!! A Olympic gold medal should be the pinnacle of a sport. They have golf & tennis in the Olympics. A golfer would throw out a gold medal for a green jacket. A tennis player would throw out a gold medal for a Wimbledon title. ect., etc.
Wrestling is such a pure sport. The D1 NCAA Championships get huge crowds for the week. Wrestling in the Olympics could be a draw on TV if they gave the TV coverage. By the way fuck NBC for not broadcasting it.
