Before I post my opinion, I'm very curious as to what most of you guys think. The question being if you think you progress faster training 7 days a week versus just 1-2 days of training combined with instructional videos/books. Please elaborate on your answers, thank you.
In my opinion, i believe constant training helps me. Training only one or 2 days a week is rough since (for me) my body isnt moving as fluent as if i was training 3-5 days a week. Then again im a beginner with only about a year and half under my belt (on and off). I haven't watch any videos yet, just matches of the "worlds" and some "pan ams." Everyone is different but constant training helps me with muscle memory and feeling comfortable with what i know.
I try to train 5 days a week. But I can say when I have been injured or crazy busy, and I am out for more than 3 days in a row, when I come back I feel stronger...most often physically and mentally. I am currently nursing a back injury and have been out for two weeks now and I am having withdrawals. But I am spending a good hour or so everyday watching instructional videos to keep my mind actively repping the game.
You need both. Drilling is great for technique and muscle memory. But visualization and the mental game is huge. That's where the creativity comes in. Not saying you can't invent a move while rolling but it's easier to have some mental theory behind a move and then use the live roll to refine.

If you swing a heavy hammer really hard but don't know what to hit, you mite hurt someone. If you know what you need to hit with that hammer, but you are unable to manuever it, you mite hurt yourself.
Kinda a lame metaphor but it works. just like life, finding balance and maintaining balance is the key.
love the responses so far. seems like in the few people that replied so far, all the bases of this discussion is already being covered. I'd love to hear from more people though. thanks.
