Saw this today on Bloody Elbow. It's worth a read if you get a chance. Also there's a more in depth article about it if you read to the bottom.

Wow, it really does benefit the company more than the fighter.
thanks
Ah yes, the ugly truth to every fighter's ultimate dream goal. Kinda makes you wonder who the sharks are in the business...the fighters or the company!?
If you don't like the contract, don't sign it... you still have that freedom. You can always negotiate contracts, but with any negotiation you have to be willing to walk away if things are not to your liking, if your not willing to walk away at any point then the other side already won. As long as the top fighters sign the agreement and continue to pack stadiums and Make UFC millions why would they change it??? Last I checked public/private companies are in business to make money!! And no fighters don't need a union. Just the desire to not sign if they don't like it.
I guess the only reason UFC would change it is if the fighters joined together and agreed not to keep getting fucked. The money seems ok but the other terms of the contract are unbelievable. It is mentioned many times that the contract would not hold up legally if challenged in court, that just hasn't happened yet.
