awesome how ryan blocks the body before santiago could step over. santiago looked so tired but all he could do was roll and give up position. so fun to watch. especially at the end of the fight !

I started to lose it a little when Ryan started to invert his guard. You have to be pretty confident in how the fight was going to do something like that.
To be fair, though, his opponent was pretty close to exhausted and just fell right into it with a sloppy punch. Still, it was pretty cool to see.
I think that's the very best way to look at the Omaplata in MMA. As a sweep!
my favourite use of it as a sweep was Rich Clementi hitting it on Melvin Guillard at UFC 79
