I've watched a lot of Miyao now and I'm not sure if there's a way past his guard.

Fantastic pass I love how disruptive it is to the bottom guys hip movement before any momentum or use of grips can be established.
Round 3:30 you can see Joao reaching for the belt or pants. Then remembers the rules and switches back and forth between the lat, hip, and thigh. Persistent advancement with grips and hooks is everything and waaay harder nogi. Take a break for even a second and he's gone. The Miyao's stay busy.
