How does this process work in the 10th planet system?

On my way to work today i was thinking about Jiu jitsu (like i always do) and i was wondering, how does "stripes" and performance rank work in the 10th planet system since its no gi. I train with gracie barra so were in the gi four days a week, so when we display our knowledge we get a stripe on our belts.

Also, to my understanding, only a black belt can give stripes and new ranks out. With that said how does some of the 10th planet schools do this if there is only a few black belts under eddie at this time? Can the brown belts do it?

I know denny, eddie and the others travel all the time, so i was curious how it works.

in most systems browns can give out rank up to brown and from what I understand, atleast at my school, which is an aliosio silva affiliate (no gi). We rank and stripe just like gi. We even wear our belts with our rapped around our shirts if we choose.

There are no "stripes" in 10th Planet. Purples and Browns affiliate instructors make rank up to Blue Belt, afterwards promotions go through Eddie.

If you are not affiliated with any Gracie school then you have to Fed Ex 5 severed feet to Eddie in dry ice. That's how Herzog got in.

can they be incased in concrete?

In most systems only Black Belts give the belts out. In 10th Planet, however, Purple and Brown Belt instructors can give Blue Belts out, but no higher. Only Black Belts can give Purple, Brown and Black.

Yes.

You can get brown stripes but since we wear no gi's or belts, you have to wear the brown stripe on your upper lip... smells funky too
