Was going over some stuff in class tonight when one of the new guys showed this, In NO WAY is this an instructional just a question if its a legit sweep what and what are some ways to stop it besides timing and sitting your hips back to prevent the roll just was something new we hadn't seen before and wanted the 10th p family's review on it

Counter with the un-winder from the first rubber guard book. Sweep works great on people that dont know the un-winder. You can also shoot for the legs after doing that sweep
unwinder is also in mts 12 and 29
I use this sweep all the time. Works great on people who don't know the defense. Counter it with an Unwinder.

i think the main issue you're having is that your left arm is staying on your near side
i'd say:
-be ready for his reaction and turn towards his legs, and
-when you turn, look to keep your left arm on the far side of your opponent and immediately back your ass up near his right shoulder

This is my go-to right here. Doesn;t always work out perfectly, but it will create a scramble that is more favorable (sometimes) than the roll (which can be predictable).

Pretty common omaplata escape. If the guy on top knows the defense they'll ride the wave and land in Twister Side. I use this escape most often now but only duck under enough to create space to free my arm to the other side of the body.
