10 ten minute rolls (100 mins) of Marcelo Garcia and Braulio Estima for ADCC

Works for me, thanks!
I really like the mirror feature, but I don't like the slow buffer speed.

I got these links from Sherdog and the links are also on the UG and all over the internet and social media. So I think the website is just getting slammed right now by tons of people watching these videos today. Mine is slow now too but was really fast earlier this morning before the links got posted.
Anyone that does jiu jitsu should watch these rolls. So much gold in them.

Usually Marcelo dominates almost every high level jiu jitsu guest at his academy.. But with Braulio was a different story.. Awesome rolls! Both awesome athletes!

Braulio has subbed MG twice in competiton, so I actually was surprised when Marcelo started cooking him in the last few rolls. In that 8th or 9th roll it looked like Marcelo got a few rear naked chokes. Bad ass stuff. Marcelo's losses have usually been to taller and longer oponents, and by arm-in submissions like arm triangles, triangles, and darces.
This is the one nogi match he and Braulio had at Abu Dhabi before.

Question: Why is it that Marcelo seldom does full X Guard in his rolls in the Academy? I've been looking through a few now and he's always hitting single leg X, but rarely goes for the full X - has his game just evolved from full X Guard, to the single X?

I would say yes. It's more common to see him just going to 1 leg x or partial x. Even in ADCC '09 and '11 he didn't really go to full x guard but maybe one time.

I would love to hear him say why he's dropped the full X-Guard. I have both his books and he talks about how he's constantly refining his game down to 'what works on people of all sizes'. From this I'm guessing he must have identified some sort of flaw with X-Guard? Or maybe it's just easier to get to SingleX? Either way, I'd like to hear his thoughts on why....
