Moving to Toronto!
In a month I will be moving to Toronto, Canada. The company I work for has opened up a new facility there, and I have been selected to be one of the supervisors there. Living in southern California my whole life, it's a huge step for myself and family, but I think it's the right step. It will be sad to leave the freaks of 10th Planet Oceanside/San Diego, but I will continue my Jiu Jitsu journey where ever I'm at.
I've read on the forums about a 10th planet or two fading out of Toronto, are there any plans for a new moon? Is anyone working on a hotbox? I'm reaching out to the 10th planet family, to help me find the right place to train in my new home of Toronto.
Also any advice for a Californian moving his family to Canada is welcome. Snow should be..... "interesting" haha.

Ohhhhhhhh shiiiiiiiit! Just in time for WINTER!!!!
(Be prepared!)
I train at a 10th Planet Peterborough, which is an hour away from Toronto. Our club holds dual affiliation with 10th Planet and Troop BJJ, and we have a LOT of friendly clubs in Toronto that we cross train with on a regular basis.
For fulltime places:
If you are 100% NoGi, talk to Ian Freemantle at Toronto NoGi.
If you like the Gi and NoGi, talk to Professor Marco Costa from Body of Four.
I will see if I can get my coach (Stew Landry) to chime in on this. I know for a fact that we have a open door policy for other 10P heads and anyone students who train at a certain number of Toronto schools including the two I listed above. My coach always promotes cross training with other students and other schools/academys for growth. You would be welcome to roll with us!
Being in Toronto, you'll only be a couple hours away from Zog in Rochester too.

Always welcome to come out. Ian was involved with 10th p at one time but not at an official capacity. He does gi there as well despite the school name. If you are looking for info or want to chat/get you pointed in the right direction in the GTA add me on fb or text the club number and I'd be happy to help ya out in whatever way I can.

if this winter is anything like the last one you're in for a treat. just kidding, the exact opposite
in all seriousness, if you're dressed appropriately the winter isn't so bad. don't skip on quality winter gear.
give me a shout if you're ever in kingston

Rochester is less than a 3 hr drive.

Way less than 3 Scotty :) 3.5 to 4 from Peterborough and we are 1.5 hours passed Toronto. In other words we both pretty close. Again I roll at a lit if Toronto schools though as well. Get a hold of me and I'll make sure I hook you up with good Toronto training (or even help ya facilitate your own moon if that's in your plans) abd of course you're welcome to hit my club whenever ya want :) I'm sure prof Zog feels the same :)

Make the trip over to Montreal sometime.

Seconding don't skimp on the winter clothes, Lake Ontario winters can be pretty lame. Toronto is a great city though, hope you like it. I have a friend who takes trips back home to Toronto semi-regularly and the drive isn't the worst.

There's a 10th Planet Oceanside, in addition to 10th Planet Vista?
