From the Hinterland to the Homeworld (I'm visiting 10thP HQ Oct 1-11th ! )
There is a place I know, a place I used to go. Past fancy lights and shiny cars, well-lit bars and off into the night. You have to walk all over bum piss, but it's a place I miss. No matter where I go or what I do, whom I've choked or tapped out to, whether I pontificate or drink until I puke, I know I belong at one place: 10th Planet HQ.
This is a call to arms to all of you fat people who miss having my foot choke you, to all of my heavier brethren who have grown complacent in my absence. Or maybe the sin of insouciance is my own, and you will have the opportunity to chastise the wicked. To all of you hyper-flexible LA-area grapplers, put down your almond-milk triple-mocha grande lattes, wipe the crumbs of kale chips and gluten-free biscotti from your rashguards, roll up your right pant legs, and ride your fixies down to Pico & Grand. Press pause on your Xbox, step away from horribly-voice-acted Destiny, and come grapple with a balding slovenly gadabout. The window is narrow, and the time draws nigh. Come train with me! (This is just a hifalutin' way of saying that I'll be making the pilgrimage from the hinterland to the homeworld on Oct 1st - 11th.)
Every time I glance at these forums, I see fifty words that swim around meaninglessly in my head. I know nothing of Ginger Snaps, I know nothing of Honey Holes, I know nothing of Hindulotines; I'm like an overeating Jon Snow without hair. My Dead Orchard won't stop bearing fruit, and my Muddy Waters are clear as a bell. Teach me, o glorious Motherland, teach me!, your huddled mass yearning to breathe free. I am open to receive your light, and I will carry it to the farthest uncharted darkness of the frozen North, I will take it to the unwashed savages who grow strong and fierce under the glowing night skies. Your word will blossom and be given life anew.
I am coming home. I will teach and be taught. Prepare your anus, Los Angeles.
