When I have someone in Muddy Waters, I don't have to swing my outside leg over for a traditional armbar right? Just keep my legs crossed with the shoulder locked, hip up, and pull? Would you say that's more higher percentage?
Controlling that wrist mid swing has been hit or miss for me.

Yeah, you don't have to swing the leg over for the traditional armbar. Personally I like to though, when going up against bigger guys (which is most of the time).
Perhaps getting a deep hook in would help you control the arm when you want to swing your leg over the head for thee armbar
You could dead Orchard at that point right? Admittedly I haven't put the reps into muddy waters I should.
I'd say its lower risk and commitment but a LITTLE lower % for the tap, especially in comp where they are going to make you bridge though enough to start breaking it, and maybe not tap when you get just a little hyper extension. It also helps allot to still get the arm extended if they are staking it (video example below from a pro tournament with cash on the line). If you latch a full triangle, dead orchard style, your going to be able to get more bridge into the elbow and WAY more help keeping them from stacking than just the feet crossed and its low risk to try (so I do try that one) but the "traditional" leg over the head gives you the MOST control to keep them from stacking (leg pressing on their neck) and gives your hips the MOST range of motion to bridge.
