1st tournament (Visted SD 10th Planet Open / EB seminar in Jan)

Hey Guys,

I posted a while back and just wanted to say thanks for the hospitality that Boogie showed at 10th Planet SD opening. It was awesome rolling with you guys and a pleasure getting smoked by the brothers. Anyway, I attended the SD Bravo seminar before heading back to Maine earlier this month. We drilled rubberguard the entire showing which helped a ton.

1/17 - I competed in my first Sub-only tournament and placed second in the division. I landed 5 electric chairs (9 matches) a couple of RNCs and one slick Gogopalata from rubber guard. Ended up losing in the finals to a guy with a lot more experience but shit... next time. I watch the technique videos you put out religiously during work and try to emulate it during open rolls.

Just wanted to thank Boogie/Freak & Eddie for the hospitality. I have only been training for 6months but will continue to work on the flexibility to pull off lotus w/o hands (can force myself into it now).

Also watching Boogie get this blackbelt on top of learning a lot of rubberguard. This is something I aspire to get at some point in my life & was cooler than all the training I received combined. Congrats to him and his entire gym. Next trip to Cali I would love to swing in again and continue working on this sport we all love. TY
