I've just started using the spiderweb instead of a traditional armbar, but I'm having trouble breaking the grip of my opponents. Any techniques or tips would be appreciated, and the less flexibility required the better. Thanks!

I really dig Denny's break called the "serpent crush" works like a treat.

Arm crush, x-break, silverado, douche bag, zip tie, old school double arm squish, Rhonda's torgue to the head, old school palm strike, old school leg shake head bounce.
Just underhooking his same side leg is a habit that took me a while to build up. It's nice to finally be in a position where I can test some of these breaks. But other guys got it down on the techniques.
Silverado/arm crush are my go to's. The X break is pretty awesome if they give you the space to get your feet through
Wrist lock is my go to. To not get their wrist broken/tapped, they have to straighten the arm, right into the armbar.
If you have the wrist lock, you don't need to worry about the leg. If they try to come on top to stack you, the wrist lock will get worse.
