Injury management. (ACL, I think)

Alright, lads and ladies. Knee decided to take an unfamiliar detour and popped. I haven't been able to extend it fully or rotate it to the inside. There was a big family dinner planned for tonight so I decided to leave the hospital visit until Monday in case I ended up there for the whole night and missed the dinner. It's shitty timing seeing as Bollinger and Fields will be in Dublin for a seminar on Monday, I'll still be attending but will have to sit out with a notebook, can't miss out on that knowledge.

Any 10p brothers or sisters out there who have dealt with a similar injury? I'm hoping surgery isn't necessary but I'll have to wait and hear what the doc says. Any tips in relation to recovery, any kind of training you could still safely do, etc.

If you can financially swing it, get it checked out. How exactly did the injury occur? There are other things in the knee besides the ACL that can pop and give similar initial symptoms. I've been lucky and avoided ACL damage however have had my left LCL damaged twice and am currently in the recovery process of my right MCL. There is also the miniscus in there as well as the patella tendon. Some of these can avoid surgery, just the good ole RICE method (rest, ice, compression, elevation) plus a good anti-infammatory, whereas the ACL is a complete surgical process followed by a lengthy rehab process. I'd say RICE for a week or so then attempt to get some movement back through basic extensions before the dreaded MRI. But, if finances are of no concern, go ahead and get that shit looked at.
