Nice work Nathan.
Looking good, Wallner. What weight do you compete at, dude? You're a big, strong animal.
That back take was mint. Do you hit that often?
Thanks Frank! BMAC I compete at whatever I can. I started mma fighting at 155 then moved up to 170. In jiu jitsu I compete anywhere from 165-185. Only this year I have moved it up to 185 class when I won Gracie Nationals but I think that in the big leagues I would be at 170. This competition the weight class was something like 175-188, I weighed in at 182. I've never not made weight. I am the master of my body, and my gf is a dietitian, so that helps. Robster, do you mean after my opponent took my back in the 3rd match or my response to it?
I thought he was referring to the arm drag, hand over hand climb onto the guys back
My response from knee bar to roll to heel hook is one of my favorite combinations. There are so many options along the way if you know what you're doing! I have really emphasized mixing up my attacks between high and low points. Staying tight between transitions is something I try to preach to my guys, killing that space. My top control game is coming along but my back take skills aren't as rounded. I usually like to pressure from the top and sometimes get the back just from grinding. Sometimes I give up my back to attack the legs. It's a dangerous game that I would not recommend. I feel my choke defense is pretty good so I use that to spin to guard too.
That was my opponent that did that and no I don't get hit with that often. It was sneaky, that guy is tough!
Sorry yes it was at the 1 minute 10 mark
