My Ohio Grappling Challenge Results

I lost the match for the bronze in the gi and I lost in the first round in no gi to a division 1 wrestler who won the no gi division. My sensei said I was the only guy in the Intermediate nogi Division who was able to put him and hold him in their guard. I never tapped. I played kinda sloppy, but I tapped out a Jorge Gurgel student in the gi and gained a stronger understanding of what's going to make me a stronger grappler.

congrats jon! i was there too wish i would have known another nibiru warrior was there. what division were you? i competed in intermediate 155-170 my first match i won on an arm bar second i was totally gassed and for bronze i hit an omaplata. jorge complimented my and all i said was eddie b. lol he didn't like that too much

Nice! I competed in the beginner gi and intermediate nogi under 205lb category. It's going to be a tough division for me to excel. I'm going to work on my takedowns and basics for Arnolds cause most the guys in my division seem to be all about the points and not so much about the flow. But hey, it was still alot of fun.

I saw a red head kid compete wearing a 10th Planet rash guard. Was that you? If it was, your bottom game looked pretty slick. Sorry I didn't stop and say hello. I was having too much fun watching all the chaos on the mat until it was my turn. Are you going to compete at Arnolds in Columbus? If you are, I'll look for ya.

jon you didnt do that bad. you should take the things you did right and build off of that. keep training and work the reps!

Thanks Scott. I will. If I'm looking at what I did wrong, it's just to constructively refine my movements and display my humble side to all the Nibiru Warriors.

no that wasn't me.. it was a pretty fun event, way bigger turn out than i expected. just keep at it and you'll get it its all a learning experience
