I still find it impossible to watch Alex Jones. He's nothing but a fear-mongering pseudopundit. And it really has nothing to do with the facts at hand. If you jump up and down and scream "TYRANNY!" at every turn, it becomes impossible to take you seriously (Alex: ever hear of the boy who cried wolf?). Why that bothers me is because there really are some serious things that need serious attention. But when Obama takes a crap and you call it A SOCIALIST TAKEOVER OF OUR VERY SEWER SYSTEM! you simply become an irrelevant noisemaker. Nothing you say matters anymore because EVERYTHING you say is the end of the world.
This happened long before Obama came into office. During the Reagan/Bush#1 years, media companies were merging to become super-corporations. America went from 2,000+ media companies in the 40s, to 200+ in the 80s, and 3 companies as of 2005-present day, whereas it was at 6 as of 2001. That gives the media companies the freedom to print whatever they want while avoiding public scrutiny. And you think you've been getting unbiased information for how long? Sadly, you need to go to the internet for decent info anymore. And then, you need to stay away from the biased websites. Finding truth has been difficult/impossible for a very long time.
The trick is; learn how to decipher information better. Critical thinking is imperative nowadays, and everyone thinks they have such a capacity, which is far from true. I would actually like to suggest a college text book to help in this department. It's a very good read, Thinking for Yourself - by Marlys Mayfield.
Took a class on critical thinking last semester. Its true.
For shizzle, or amen, good stuff
Anyhow the truth is always uncomfortable... Especially when all the grown ups don't know what they are doing. "Does anyone know what they are doing?" (joe rogan standup)
In the words closely to what I remember is "I know I'm dumb, but I am smarter than 99 percent of the people I meet."
Keeps getting worse and worse...
don't be afraid to speak your mind and infect people with truth
This is ridiculous trying to link this to Obama. This phenomenon was around before he or any of us were even born. Trying to link it to Obama only feeds the Obama haters and takes the eyes off the real problem, a system corrupt in it's entirety that has been in place for many many years.
