I know this is going to sound totally crazy and maybe I'm insane for suggesting this but...if you are going to make a video about how to defeat the Rubber Guard, how about using a partner who actually knows how to do the Rubber Guard. Just a thought...

Seems like a good trainer tho. very respectful and knows his escape/pass is flawed
he's come out with another video since this one because of the complaints about how the dude didnt do rubberguard right. so the next guy was "more flexible".. but.. still didnt do it right lol. the leg on the hip wasnt in tight, he wasnt double bagging to prevent anything, and his kung fu move was more of a "tug on my foot" move. But he did seem very respectful when making the video. So i dont think hes a 10th planet hater.. i just think someone who didnt know how to do rubberguard try to show him a sloppy version of it and made it look bad.

I don't think he was criticizing the Rubber Guard, he was just showing a pass for it. All guards have passes for them. I don't understand why anyone would take offense because someone is showing a pass for the RG that they are working on. It'd be tough to walk through any Black Belt's guard (Rubber or otherwise) even with good technique, so I don't think that is a valid criteria for rating this guys pass.Quote:

I think the pass could work and is valid. Doesn't mean I think it'll work 100% of the time or that you'd breeze through a BB's guard. It's probably worth playing with. It's definately better than sitting in the RG trying to lock your arms in place and just defending. Other than passing that leg, the only other good technique that I know of to get out of the RG, is to smash pass.
I hear where hes coming from in the video but thats giving you a omaplata and if he passes I hit carnis like daily.
