hi everybody. i'm relatively new to the 10p system. i found out that there is a move called special k in it and it was invented by sean bollinger but i don't know what it is exactly. can you guys tell me what it is and how it's done?
Sure, you just go to chill dog, kung fu, gogoplata, go past the gogoplata, clear the arm and enter the stock. From there you grab their far side arm, drive your foot up into your attacking foot and you get a special K.
I know that seems overwhelming but everything kind of builds off of everything else. If you work your way upwards through each term, you'll get there.
i got you until gogoplata. i got lost from go past the gogoplata onwards. can you be more detailed? btw, what's the stock? i'm sorry. i'm really a noob at this. all the techniques i know about the system, i got from eddie's books and nowhere else.
The gogoplata hooks under the chin... go past that and hook under the armpit of the opposite arm. That sets up tons of stuff. Play around from there.
interesting. once i get my 10p basics down, i'm gonna give this a shot. thanks aj.
From Chill Dog
- peform the Kung Fu Move to bring your leg in front of their face.
From here you have various options
- if you stick your foot under their chin, you can get a Gogoplata or variation
- commonly, your opponent will push down on your foot with their free hand to defend the choke
- from here, you can zombie that arm and work on the Sorcerer
Alternatively, you can work your foot under their far armpit instead of under their chin. This will open up a few more options.
There's a few ways you can get the foot under the armpit. If they are pushing down on your foot to defend the gogoplata you can grip their wrist with your free hand and pull their arm forward, sticking your foot under their armpit at the same time.
(there are a few more tricks into getting the foot under the armpit, but this is what you are looking for)
From here, you can perform the Straight Jacket
- Grip their free arm (the one not trapped on the mat) with both hands, making sure they don't pull their other arm out.
- Step your free leg (the one that blocks on the hip) on the back of your heel that is under their armpit
- Pull with both hands as you you stomp on your heel
* This is mainly a shoulder submission
If you can't get the straight Jacket to work, this is where you'll usually go for the Special K
- From the straight jacket, remove your foot that's stomping on the heel
- Throw that leg over the arm you have gripped (kind of like a kung fu move)
- Using the leg that is over the arm as a leverage point, push the arm in to the leg to get an armbar (hyper extension)
* there is also a version called 'Special J' where you have the arm that you're attacking under your armpit. This just makes the control tighter.
See, I screwed up. I was describing the straight jacket.
Youtube it, special k armbar.
Its on Youtube but I'm not putting it on here because its from a ex fraud instructor!
My thoughts exactly.
