RG troubles... help!
so i have problems maintaining rubber guard on stronger dudes that posture really well. Ill break them down, go for mission, hold it for a few seconds before i find myself rising off the floor as they posture up. Im forced to give up mission control to avoid a hard slam. advice?

Assuming you're maintaining constant leg curls and they're actually picking you up off the ground in perfect MC... bail and work your half guard or stand up and get the takedown. :)
Seriously, if you want to stay in full guard the RG counter to wicked posture is crackhead control with monster leg curls. Invisible collar is even better but to get there you have to be able to maintain control of their posture throughout the transition. Retard control can help you settle them down for a minute, then make the transition to crackhead if they're still trying to posture out. It's all about the clinch and squeeze. You can develop your leg squeeze by putting a 12+ lb medicine ball in MC and squeezing for time, then transition to crackhead and squeeze for time. I usually do a couple of reps with the ball in MC, crackhead, and IC right before class to warm up and get my squeeze going.

Ill definitely try aborting and going for a takedown. I dont think my squeeze is the problem since they pick me up as they posture, not necessarily that they posture out of my rubber guard. i find myself in mid air holding retard control... not a fun place to be.

are they just posturing or standing up, cos im still a newbie and had this problem when i first started, i only do mma so most the guys i roll with are pretty strong and/or big. the advice i got when they were stacking or lifting me up at all we to hook one of there legs with my free arm, usually they would either drop back down to normal, or i could sweep them straight to spiderweb, which was awesome. for guys with the mad posture that lift you up whilst they are still 'ass to mat' a solid retard control can work, and sometimes i try rescue dog cos the sudden change of my weight to their other side throws of their balance and they come back down. they can only posture a certain amount they exhaust their back completely, then its your game :)

I got a couple guys that do that to me. Let them posture up all the way then let go of mission control plant your feet grab his tricep and go for the hip bump sweep. It's not 100% but it's a good option from there. Once the guys got all his weight committed to posturing up, take him over.

craaaaaaack heaaaad and yes my friend it sounds like it is your leg squeeze and curls sorry :)

There is a way to deal with this issue...
I train with Eddie over at HQ, he pointed this out to me about a year ago.
If your opponent lifts you up off the ground, Over Hook (or Under Hook as a secondary option) his near leg.
Ex: I'm in Mission/Crack Head Control, My Mission Control Arm is my right Arm, So my Free Arm (the left, the hand I Zombie with) I will use to Over Hook his right leg as I am lifted off the ground. This will stop him mid way and he will be forced to go back to his knees. If it happens again... repeat the process.
If this isn't working for various reasons (the opponent is too big, explosive, strong, still able to pick me up, etc.), then, again, abandon Rubber Guard and start working for a takedown, or half guard or butterfly.
Often what I like to do, is use a sweep setup off of this.... When your opponent uses that much energy to lift your weight off the ground, his balance becomes compromised. Perfect opportunity to release mission control and go straight to the double push kick sweep (While my hands are used to ankle pick his feet) It's Highly Effective.
Hope this helps.

They slam you?
Punch them in the fucking face as you come up and see how they like that shit.
I know that sounds low brow, but allowing slamming in grappling sparring is bullshit. What is the best case scenario they are aiming for? Knocking you out and giving you a coma?
Fight the lift by hooking their leg but if they get you clean off of the mat they get the win and restart, there's no need to slam the shit out of your training partner. There's no reason to give yourself brain damage during jiujitsu sparring.

Maybe they're tapping into their inner Rampage Jackson during your rolls?
