If they thread there leg too deep you can take their back.
Ryan shows a setup around the 4 minute mark.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjF6DV9QfJ0
I have used Chris Brenann's Deep Half Guard Pass on his NoGi Passes DVD (at aboutthe 32min mark). It shows a good pass as they start to come in for the leg you push their face down and step over there head and reach back around there head and work into side control..If they get a hold of the leg, thats a different story. But it has worked for me on a purple belt and i am just begining.
So that's the first time I've seen that video, and after seeing it it looks extremely similiar to the twister side control, but the variation is in when the opponent turns into you. Ryan doesn't secure the opponents knee like eddie does my stepping into it, nor does ryan make use of with the lock down but it looks affective. Other than than it looks like it could be affective.
Haven't tried it yet but what do some other warriors think?
I've drilled the hell out of it and I love it, it's just like the ninja, I prefer the back to the truck and base ball bat control. I've never had any one who understands the intricacies of either position explain them so I know theres I'm a lot I'm missing so until I do I'll just keep going to the back. I get finishes from the truck every so often or rarely a twister but I feel I waste a lot of energy getting them compared to the back.
If you can get under their knee, the truck is yours.
