was wondering if theres a possible choke from the twister position as alot of nogi events wont let u use the twister, seems like a good option as u have trapped one hand from defending, in the gi would be a nice oppurtunity to go for an ezekiel choke, was wondering if anyone knows how to choke someone nogi from this position though?
there is a armlock variation to the twister position in the mastering the twister book if you dont own the book you really should invest in it
yeah its called the scizzors, was lloking for something a bit more high percentage like a choke, was watchinh eddies match with mark ashton where he gets the twister but has to re establish to the back in order to finish, just thought it would be cool if someone came up with something where u didnt have to re establish and possibly lose the position completely but still had a high percentage submission, i also didnt know that the ufc allowed the twister before last weekend so that also inspired the question
From the twister to the back is a very high percentage transition. The twister position is extremely uncomfortable by itself, so your opponent would most likely gladly give you his back. If you sneak the arm around his neck during the transition it's a free RNC.
i think shinya aoki goes over a few in the first volume of his dvd series. besides the standard rnc from the lockdown, theres another cool looking one where he gets an overhook on the near arm from the truck, brings that overhook hand right to the back of their shoulder, uses his other arm to go around their neck and then he monkey grips his fingers.
