Street fight!!!
well some kid is threatning me that he's gonna kick my ass haha witch is deffinetly not going to happen lol but if we do end up fighting how different is it from mma should i still use my jab and work him like that or just swing looking for a good punch. Ive never exactly been in a street fight. Any suggestions would be apriceated thank you. Feel free to share your own street fighting experiances.

got my ass destroyed in a streetfight, that's why I started doing muy thai and jitz in the first place.
I got in one more fight after that, it was at a party where I knew almost nobody. Some kid was talking shit and wanted to scrap me and I was gonna do it but my friends convinced me to back down because if I didn't they said the whole party would jump me. So I was walking away then I saw the guy jump on my friend and start hitting him and so I jumped on him and choked him out. I found out later that he wasn't hitting my friend he was just trying to punk him. but the fact that I choked him out so fast scared everybody else and they didn't do anything to me.
just remember your training streetfights aren't any different than an mma fight just make sure your friends are there so the friends of the guy you're fighting don't decide to jump in and start throwing sucker punches.

Take him down and choke him out ignore it if he taps cuz wen u get up he may get a cheapshot
Wen hes choked out, get up and away as soon as possible if he confronts you about it ask him how he wants too be choked out again
Doubt he will fuck with u after that

Great advise, if your an adult you'll go to jail, if you a minor your could end up in Juvenile detention (where I worked for 10 years, trust me there's not much difference). Forums are not good for legal or medical advice. Most dopes that post and give responses in such matters don't have a fucking clue what they are talking about. Bottom line avoid altercations if at all possible.
What the forums lawyers aren't telling you (because they are ignorant) is that now in most states (specifically New York) placing your hands/arms near anyone's throat during a fight/attack is a misdemeanor, and if they go unconscious its a class E felony.
Watch how well the "self defense" argument works for you, after the fact.

Emir,
I'm not telling you to get into a street fight, you should avoid those if possible. With that being said....
I think I remember you saying that you were 13. Since you are so young and you have advanced notice of this 'fight', I'll consider it more of a school yard fight than a street fight. Meaning, it doesn't sound like you'd be fighting for you life in this one.
NEVER, EVER choke someone in a school yard fight. Choking someone is considered using deadly force. You can be arrested just for doing it to someone, just as if you pulled a knife on someone, and if anything happened to the kid, you could end up in jail. Only if you felt in danger for your life, would you be able to choke someone and not be in danger of legal trouble.
Also, I'm an old man of 39 years. In that time I've learned that the only people that actively look to get into street fights are people that haven't been in enough of them to know that you won't win all the time. I've learned that while it's a lot of fun to be the winner in these things, when things go bad, they go really bad. You can't tap when you you've gotten knocked down and guys are standing around you kicking you in the face and body.
Many of these guys that look to fight all the time have self esteem issues. They have nothing going for them other than their tough guy image, so when they have an advantage, they won't stop because they have nothing to lose. These are the same guys that will reply to your post with stories of 100's of street fights and tell you how they've been shot and stabbed, etc. Don't take advice from these people. 10% of their stories are true, the rest is their need to impress you with their tough guys stories.
In summary: If you have to fight, then fight hard, but don't go looking for trouble and be sure that you don't do something in the heat of the moment that you'll have to pay for later.

Good thinking Emir. However I am one of those guys who would go out and apologize to the bully wanna be even if I knew I could embarrass his ass in front of everybody easily. In a street fight nobody wins. I got in to a couple, on one of the I broke somebody's nose and later on I felt like it was really not that necessary. It bugs me still to this day. Overall, if you can figure a way out to walk away, please do so. You will see that most black belts in almost all martial arts would choose to step away from a fight although they could have killed that bully or drunk bastard within seconds. It is never worth it.

try to avoid it, never start it, and if anything, strike back in defense only and always look for a way to exit the fight as soon as possible. You never know who your up against and nothing with be worse than incurring a serious injury that may affect you later on in life. Plus we live in a society that sues first and foremost

Yeah, i dont want to hurt anyone over something stupid especially since we're kids and i'll proablably regret it later on in life.
