this is just my opinion and what i dislike when others do it
my instructor always tells us 30% and will tell us how much percent he wants us going
so when people go 100% and are armbarring me with all their strength it makes me angry
that or when they take you down but they drop you and dont politely put you down
they literally pick you up and slam you from their feet (usually first time wrestlers)
thats about it
what do you think is dirty grappling?
I don't have many things that upset me besides being powerbombed or getting forearmed in the throat. I've been training with the same group of guys for awhile and we're pretty rough on each other though. (Strong crossfaces, neck cranks, suplexs, etc.) But we've built that trust that you have to have in order to do that stuff. I wouldn't treat a new guy that way until he felt comfortable.
you mean when people are on their backs and they push your throat in basically with their forearm? i forgot that one
After dealing with 2 knee sprains in 6 months I'm hating on guys that jump on a foot and crank it a fast as possible.
I have nothing against leg attacks but you wouldn't go after an arm like that so why do it to a foot?
Chill out, slow down a bit and make sure to give your partner time to tap. It's just training. ;)
Just forearm's to the neck that pisses me off.
Nothing is dirty, everything is legit. Of course if you have any injuries just let your partner know, and ask them if they have any.
if it makes me tap, it's dirty. :)
other than snatching up heel hooks as hard as you can, i say everything goes.
not showering or brushing teeth before showing up....that literally makes it dirty. I understand people come straight from work, but that's the type of dirty grappling i hate. makes me want to switch partners.
This is pretty much the norm at most of the gyms i train at...what time is it grip and rape chokes get your opponent to open up when they are T-Rexed. We dont consider it dirty...just part of the game. Forearms to face are a different story. My pet peeve is cranking on subs...if you have it locked in go slow...if the guy doesnt tap apply tap just apply steady pressure...if he still doesnt tap let it go and transition to something else. Like Jake said...its just training. Tourneys are a different story.
