I guess it depends why you hit rock bottom and came up to that conclusion
Do whatever you have the most fun doing. It doesn't matter if it's the most popular one or where you think you "should" be. If you don't enjoy yourself, you won't stay.

Just quit. You can't expect people to motivate you to do something you don't want to.
For mma. Muay thai, bjj, boxing, wrestling. The big 4 can do you no wrong. Your a young guy I advise joining the wrestling team I regret not doing it in highschool its super important in mma

I'm fixing that now though....very very slowly. What flexibility is for 10PJJ is what strenth/power/raw aggression is for wrestling, which is not the way I'm use to grappling. Having a good single and double leg takedown and sprawl can certainly help in tournies =D.
Wrestlers are more flexible than me:(
