Anyone find them selfs just chillin in guard and just defending rather than advancing? I used to be aggressive when I spar but now I don't really fight for the subs that I could pull all day, I am very comfortable when someone is in my guard (open,closed, rg ect) I feel no threat so I just stay there. Anyone go through that or have suggestions how break out of that?
i feel the same way, i play def all the time never submitting, I think i'm just not confident enough...
Why would you use rg and not advance? thats like parkin on the freeway.

its probably cause your offensive techniques suck... having good control in guard is a nice thing but you gotta drill those sweeps and sub setups until you know that youve got weapons you can trust. like yesterday, i was working on my butterfly sweeps for about 2 hours. now i'm 3X more confident that i can pull them off then i was the day before that.
