Competetition questions
first tournament saturday, so i have a few questions
I weigh 170, should I cut the extra ten pounds?
also, I injured myself last thursday, my elbow popped rather loudly while put in an americana. It was hurt pretty bad but it has tremendously gotten better in the past few days, should I still even compete? I also smashed my finger at work and have gotten stitches, but I think that should be fine. Considering these events, should I still compete? Also, I don't have a rashguard, will underarmor be fine?
thanks guys

If you've never cut weight before I wouldn't suggest starting out with 10 pounds. Do a test cut weeks prior to the tournament so you're comfortable with it. Do you have full range of movement in your arm? I would wait for that to return. Either way you'll learn a lot if you do.

I agree with Griffin. Ten punds in a week is alot if you haven't done it before. As far as the injuries only you know how they will affect you.

Underarmour would be fine for sure. the extra ten pounds would be a very tough cut considering you have only a few days until the weigh in...have you already been cutting to get down to 170? as far as the americana thing....it seems as though you will be fine but its kind of up to your own judgement on how it feels right now. the stitches would be annoying but with tape and stuff, you might be ok.

Tape the stitches, if you can twist your arm in the manner an americana would and feel ok, I don't like to cut too much right before because weigh ins are usually right before you step on the mats so in my opinion dont.
